Akron's Blue Santa
The original Akron Blue Santa was discovered in 2002 during an archaeological dig at Lock 3 Park on Main St in Downtown Akron.
It was manufactured on the site by The American Marble & Toy Manufacturing Co. (1884-1904.)
Dated to the mid 1890's, the 2 1/4" tall Blue Santa is one of the earliest representations of St. Nicholas to be manufactured for mass distribution.
It is also the oldest figurine of a Santa known to exist.
Today's Blue Santa is an authentic reproduction, made using the same method as the 1890's original.
